Dace’s Ultima

  • These motors have a variety of options when setting up the power.

    240V vs 12/24V

Voltage is important 240V’s advantage is it charges the motor quicker allowing it to have optimal battery as quick as possible as well as having a cleaner finish if you hardwire directly, you can also get a power point put in close to the motor this is still beneficial because it charges the back up batteries faster.

12/24V is generally used for solar or properties needing efficient energy usage, 12/24V is a bit more efficient for gates that are on solar where every minute of power use matters, its also generally cheaper especially in urban environments.

    Battery Backup

These motors come with a battery backup 12V at 7.2Ah which can be upgraded with a Backup Battery Kit which supplies 2 extra batteries on top of the battery that comes with the motor.

  • The Ultima has a smart feature to prevent wear and tear both on the gate and the motor its self called Soft stop/start, by slowing the motor at the end of the run cycle, Just as its about to close. The Motor will slow the motor to half speed or 210mm a minute.

  • The Ultima has a large variety of safety features from, obstruction detection to photocell capabilities.

    Obstruction Detection

This mode stops the gate when it detects resistance with the motor, this can be adjusted to be incredibly sensitive, with the downside that wind and bushes will trigger the stop. Obstruction detection is recommended if you have small children or animals, or if you have short driveway to park in.

    Motor Lock

When the motor isn’t in use the motor will lock the gearbox preventing the gate from opening or closing without the owners permission, this is why the use of such things such as padlocks and deadbolts are unnecessary, with most modern motors.

    Photocells

Photocells are required by law in some countries, but in Australia, NewZealand, United Kingdom and the United States. These devices create a inferred beam from one to the other, when this beam is interrupted it sends a signal to the Ultima and stops the gate without the use of Obstruction detection.

  • Most gate motors use Leaf trackers or Hardstop tracking which work in their own circumstances but Dace designed this motor to use a magnetic tracker which is more compact and versatile, by remembering where the magnet is it will adjust the open and close parameters based on where the magnet is, preventing gate limit slips which would require someone to come out every now and then to adjust the limits.

  • Keyed Manual Release

Dace use a keyed manual release system, to stop unwanted visitors from getting easy access once they get into the property, only downside is the key has to be safely stored, without it, the motor isn’t adjustable or changeable at all.

    Lockable Case

The case is locked up with the manual release to prevent tampering or unwanted guests opening up your property. To open the case, you’ll need to unlock the manual release door, and pull the stainless L pin, this releases the case lid, allowing you to slide the lid up and off.

  • Water Proofing

The Ultima has been designed for harsh weather conditions of South Africa, so you can be confident it will last reliably in the sun, storm or hail. Water proof with our tests it stood up to a high-pressure water blaster, so anything less then that is welcomed.

    Pest Resistant

These motors are also insect and creature proof, made to prevent ants, geckos, frogs and other creatures that tend to either damage or destroy older versions of motors.

    UV Resistant Polymer

Dace use a UV resistant Polymer for most parts on their motors making it incredibly good at enduring heat and UV rays from the sun.

  • We supply a 2 year warranty for these motors, with confidence that they will last long beyond that, average motor life of these specifically are 12-14 years.

  • These motors are one of if not the most user friendly motors we provide, with an interactive screen with voice function to guide you through the program phase, and supplying a very large variety of programs and functions, Allowing this motor to do a wide variety of tasks from Scheduling open/closes to adjusting speeds or just setting up pedestrian open, this motor will have the basis covered.
